When you do write a fanfic, please consider your readers' mental health.

I will not write what this all is about exactly, but it's the "overall" reaction from me to most fanfics I give a chance and try to read. Sometimes only a summary is enough, sometimes first chapter, and sadly at least once a good start of a fic turned into a scrap in an instant.

My own personal motto as a writer is "The last edit you do is one edit too few."

All the tricks I use and I've come to realize that some will be missed simply because I know what's supposed to be there so I see what I meant to write. But a few months down the line I may glance at something and as sure as death and taxes there'll be a typo or something.

But that said, there is one pet peeve of mine when it comes to Transformers fanfics that some otherwise very good stories have made and its mechs freely using scatological references like they were human, or just organic I suppose. This is not to say a character, like Rewind or Jazz, who is hip with a human (or some other organic) society can't believably speak that way though.
